Global availability of Moltin Self Checkout solutions has landed!

Last updated: 21 Jun 2019

Read about the live launch of our most talked-about product, Self Checkout. That means you can rival Amazon Go and allow customers to checkout products on-demand, directly from their mobile phones both in-store and at events.

You may have already heard about mobile self-checkout from Stance, or even tried it out yourself during the the SXSW conference & festival at the Chubbies pop-up store.

This insanely easy to implement solution has been extremely popular and has been widely used from the very moment of the beta release last year. Today, the Self Checkout solutions are being marked as being globally available and they’re as spectacular as you imagine!

How does it work?

The workflow is smooth and streamlined. Unlike other Self Checkout solutions that require consumers to download an app, the Moltin-powered Self Checkout solutions are based on a progressive web application optimized for mobile browsers, resulting in an easy, frictionless experience for consumers. They just have to scan a QR code or navigate to a short URL from their phone, scan product barcodes and then check out using Apple Pay, Google Pay or a credit card. The “app-less” approach makes the whole process fast and super user friendly.

Just scan, pay, and go. No more excessive lines to a checkout station. No more frustration!

Why should retailers care?

In today’s market, customers are focused on more than the product as they want a shopping experience that stands behind it. Embracing new customer journey trends ensures that a company remains competitive, and is able to monetize the digital experience expected by the consumer.

Self Checkout empowers in-store shoppers to use their phones to avoid the otherwise intricate labyrinth of a typical checkout flow. It brings digital marketing into the very tangible context of the brick-and-mortar store, finally blurring the lines between the digital and the physical world.

Where can I use it?

Self Checkout is perfect for stores, but it is also great for popups, kiosks and any event where you wish to sell your product, such as concerts, trade shows, sporting events and festivals.

Freed from the checkout duty, your store employees can finally focus on the core task - assisting with shopping and promoting the brand. This means spending more meaningful time with the consumer, providing relevant information about the product, or suggesting alternative solutions.

I’m in! What’s next?

The solution is available to all customers as a reference application that can be customized to your unique business needs. Moltin’s APIs can connect to existing catalogs, payment gateways and POS systems, allowing retailers to manage store catalogs, inventory and order processing with their existing systems, if desired.

All you need to do is to contact our team and discuss the details. If you wish to know more about implementation, read our technical playbook. If you would like to review some tips on day-to-day store operations, take a look at our business playbook.
